Petit Verdot is a red grape producing a juicy deep coloured and vivacious wine with strong notes of blueberry and plum fruit. It usually enters in small proportion into the final blend of many Bordeaux. Late ripener, the seasons is often too short to see it coming to complete maturity but, global warming helping as well as a plantation on warm soil, chateau Bellevue is able to produce from very old vines (1936, 1940, 1950) on specific vintages up to 800 cases of this unique wine. 92+ pts Wine Advocate.
